  • Kimball Art Center: Gallery weddings are exceptionally beautiful with their open spaces and peacefully sophisticated air. The Kimball Art Center has four venue options for weddings, including three galleries and an outdoor patio.
  • Riverhorse on Main: This restaurant is able to host weddings of any size, from intimate family affairs up to 200 people, in their Soho style loft. There’s also plenty of space for a live band and dancing.
  • High West Whiskey Distillery: For a completely unique experience, the saloon setting at the High West Whiskey Distillery is both hip and elegant. They have three venue options, offer delicious cuisine, and can offer guests up to six entree options.

Springtime In Park City

If you were hoping to hit the ski slopes in Park City for a vacation this year, it’s still not too late! The first half of April is usually when Park City receives some of its best snow of the year, which is making it an increasingly popular destination for spring break travelers. Historically, late winter storms leave a foot or more of beautiful new powder before giving way to blue, sunny skies that outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy as they hit the slopes. While many people opt for a warmer vacation during this first part of spring, Park City goers will tell you that a last winter hurrah is better time spent.

If you’re not a big fan of the skiing or snowboarding, there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy while visiting Park City. Other wintertime activities including ice skating, sledding, and scenic hot air balloon rides. If you were hoping to avoid the snow altogether, stay inside and take in some culture. Park City is well known for theater and other live performances at the Egyptian Theater and Eccles Center. There are also several art galleries that feature the work of  local artists and designers to give you a real taste of Park City.

Park City and its surrounding areas feature several interesting museums showcasing a variety of subjects, from the Air Force to skiing. The city itself is one big museum with 64 buildings, many of them right on Main Street, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A network of tunnels left over from the town’s mining era wind more than 1,200 miles through the surrounding mountains, many of which are open to tour and explore.

For those who are looking for a little more excitement, it can be found at the Utah Olympic Park. During the 2002 Winter Olympics, this park and other sites in and around Park City served as competition venues and are now used as Olympic training facilities. The park is also open to the public for activities like bobsledding, guided tours, an adventure course, sports clinics, and much more.

The USA’s longest running tour is entering its 17th season, the 2013-13 Sprint U.S. Grand Prix will make its debut on the FIS World Cup schedule in both freeskiing and snowboarding halfpipe and slopestyle. The Tour will also hold a TTR 5 Star rating for snowboarding as well as the highest AFP rating of Platinum for freeskiing in both halfpipe and slopestyle. With three stops scheduled this season the Tour kicks off its first halfpipe event at Park City Mountain Resort in December.  The final stop then shifts gears to Canyons Resort.  With over $375,000 in prize money up for grabs and the 2014 Olympics in Sochi on the horizon it’s bound to be a progressive competitive season.
